The answers to many commonly-asked questions are below.
If you can't find what you need, please don't hesitate to contact me!
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________
How do I schedule a session?
Just give me a call or send me an email! We can start from there to talk about your needs for the session, location options and coordinate a time that works best for both of us. For best availability, please try to schedule your session at least three weeks in advance of your preferred date.
(I usually suggest having a Plan B date in mind, as well, if we're planning for an outdoor session.)
What are my location options?
I have a number of outdoor locations that we can discuss, and I'm also, always open to your suggestions. If you have a location that may have special meaning to you and your family, please let me know. I primarily work in and around the Chicago NW suburbs, but am happy to go anywhere.
For travel within the Chicagoland area, but beyond 15 miles of the NW suburbs, I do charge an additional $50.
How do headshot sessions work?
Headshot sessions may run up to approx 30 minutes and can either be shot "studio style" with a backdrop,
or "environmental style" using your work environment, another location or the outdoors as the background.
After your session, you will receive a number of fully edited proof shots to choose from.
Your final image file(s) will be provided via email or on cd, and may be formatted for social media, your website, etc.
We will discuss your preferences. Headshots are $75 per session.
For companies wishing to schedule shots for employees, the fee is $75, per person.
Or to schedule a number of employees at one time, please contact me for a quote.
What's included in the session fee?
The session pricing includes time, talent, transportation, pre & post-shoot consultation, editing of all proofs and set-up of your proof gallery.
I'm also happy to work with you to figure out what type of framing, groupings, and image sizes will work best in your space.
What kind of payment do you accept?
I am happy to accept cash, check and all major credit cards are accepted.
When is payment due?
The session fee is due at the time and date of the session. Payment for prints or digital files is due upon delivery.
How long is a typical session?
A typical family session runs up to about one hour. This allows us time for a relaxed, easy session where we can get a variety of poses,
in a number of different areas at a given location, giving you plenty of great images to choose from in your proof gallery.
I allow at least twice the time for newborn sessions to be sure there's ample time for feedings, changings, etc.
Do you offer mini-sessions?
These are only offered on pre-selected dates and locations.
Clients are scheduled for 20-30 min time slots, one after the other (typically for holiday photos).
Mini-sessions are not offered as an alternative to my regular sessions.
May I have all my proofs?
You may purchase hi-res, limited size files of all your proofs for an additional $150.
These files will be provided on on a custom flash drive and are great for social media,
holiday card uploads as well as prints. Full size, hi-res files are $40 each.
Please note: No photographer is ever obligated to provide clients with the proof files from a session.
The images are the property of the photographer and it is completely at their discretion how they are offered to their clients.
What is a low-res file?
Generally, this means a smaller file, saved at under 300 dpi. They are usually fine for social media or emailing,
but may not enlarge well or print well without compromising the quality of the image. They are not intended for large prints.
What is a hi-res file?
A hi-resolution file is generally a file saved at 300 dpi or above. They are high-quality digital images suitable for prints and print materials.
The hi-res proof files I provide on the flash drive are saved at 300 dpi, but at a size under 5MB (making them more manageable for uploads, emailing, etc)
Full size, hi-res, edited files can often be more than 10MB and could be used for large scale prints.
Some online sites limit the size of uploaded files, so full-size files are often too large.
Do you offer holiday cards, announcements, etc?
YES! I offer designs for holiday cards, grad announcements, birth announcements and more, using your images! Let's discuss!
Do you offer framing?
I do! I have a local source for matting and framing and am happy to get you a quote.
He offers a wide variety of styles and colors to fit any space.
Let's discuss!
May I post any of my proof images on Facebook?
I'm happy to let you share any of the proof images, as long as my watermark can be seen in the photo, or you give me photo credit in the caption. Also, for best results, please try to use the download of the enlarged proof image, rather than copying and pasting the thumbnail image from the gallery, which will be very small and poor resolution. OR I'm always happy to email you a better version, with my watermark!
I found this great deal online for print products, but can you handle the layout and/or uploading for me?
I know there are sometimes great deals for wrapped canvases, photo books, etc. online.
I'm happy to help clients who may need some assistance with those for a one-time set-up fee of $50 (layout assistance for a complete photo book is $100).
Please note: Assistance with creating regular photo prints through another service, will not be provided.
(Anne Granato Photography cannot guarantee, and is not responsible for, the quality of any prints or photo products produced by third parties.)
I need one of our images as a digital file to create our holiday card ... can you email it to me?
SURE ... no problem! A digital file, formatted for use on a typical 5x7 Christmas card can be emailed to you for $10 each (max of 5 emailed images).
(But don't forget, you can also order cards through me! :-) )
I just love this one image, but my husband isn't looking at the camera ... can you fix that?
The short answer is ... maybe. ;-) First of all, please know that I don't insist that everyone look at the camera in my shots. I actually prefer some of the more natural shots when people are just interacting and not "posing." That said, if it's something that I just missed in my editing, I will happily fix that free of charge. Beyond those initial edits, if you have a request to "fix" something, I'm happy to give it a try for $20 per image (with a limit of 3 images).
Is the session fee refundable?
My goal is to be sure all of my clients are completely happy with their session experience and images.
However, if you are not satisfied, I will gladly reschedule your session at no charge or refund your session fee.
Payments for prints, digital files, and other print products or services are non-refundable.
